Dear Royal Rosarian Foundation Friend:
We cordially invite you to attend our annual Hearts and Roses auction! This year’s event will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the DoubleTree Hotel at Lloyd Center.
The auction committee is planning an exciting and gratifying evening. We want you to have a great time while contributing funds to support our many worthy charitable projects, including making a positive difference in the lives of at-risk young children.
New this year will be the auctioneer, a fully-plated meal, entertainment while you’re eating, and other fun activities.
Continuing from previous auctions is our need of your help in raising money for our programs that make the greater Portland area a better place to live. As a retired school teacher, I know how important it is to provide educational opportunities to the youngest, most vulnerable students. That’s why I’m a big fan of the Rosarian Foundation’s unique Field Trip Program, where we pay transportation expenses so that children from low-income families are not left behind when their classes travel to off-site experiences. I’m blown away to hear that first or second graders from some east side schools are viewing the Willamette River and downtown Portland for the first time while on their way to the Oregon Zoo! Because of our generous donors, last year our foundation was able to send $44,000 to 43 carefully-selected schools in Reynolds, David Douglas, Portland and Hillsboro districts, which put more than 14,000 kids on buses for an educational adventure.
Another of our important charities is the Community Transitional School, a Pre-K through 8th grade accredited private school for homeless children who are living in cars, motels, tents, a friend’s house or a homeless shelter. These children are in situations where poverty and uncertainty dominate much of their young lives. They are academically below their grade levels, and they desperately need the individualized attention that the CTS teachers’ aides give them. Our foundation is proud to pay a portion of the salary of one of these aides. We also send school supplies and clothing several times a year.
Our goal, of course, is to help these students become productive citizens in society. We think that early intervention and assistance is the most cost-effective way to accomplish this challenge, but we need your thoughtful support.
We look forward to seeing you at the auction. However, if you are unable to attend the auction, please consider sending a check directly to:
